Why in the Philippines? Alex and Beatrice, both Malaysians, have decided to be wed at San Agustin Church last September 9, 2009 at 9am. The reason? It’s simple: Alex and Beatrice are Christian Catholics. They were greatly attracted to the churches in Manila, specially San Agustin Church.
Beatrice first contacted me as early as March of this year, from then on, we became constant Yahoo! Messenger and Facebook buddies. Two weeks before the wedding, I met Alex and Beatrice in Manila to help them find a photographer, gown designer, florist, bridal car and restaurant reservations. Would you believe that I even decided the menu for the reception at Barbara’s in Intramuros? It was really cool.
Anyways, 9.9.9 came and I instantly became a wedding coordinator. It’s quite hard doing wedding videography while coordinating. Whew…But since Alex and Beatrice and party was just a small group, it’s not hard to handle the wedding prep and wedding ceremony.
The reception was so simple because a grand reception will be happening on January in Malaysia, which I’m going to document also. The reception at Barbara’s was more on a simple lunch treat of the couple for their guests, but surprisingly, it was fun. I’m so amazed on how they celebrate such occasions. It’s entirely different from the way we celebrate. Well, I don’t understand most of the conversations, but I was surprised that so many Filipino words are used by them also.
The best part were the events after the wedding. Me and my family were also at the hotel to accompany them for the shopping around the Metro, dinner at Kamayan-Saisaki, and of course, the tattoo sessions. Thanks to Led Tuyay of Kamikazee for the tattoo artist who agreed to come over at the hotel.
So many more stories to tell but I guess I have to end it here. To Alex and Beatrice, when I go to Malaysia, I hope I will not get lost in your malls, too, LOL.
A wedding video highlight will be edited to be shown at the Malaysian wedding reception.
And wedding video teaser soon…

Buddy Gancenia , a wedding video producer and videographer in the Philippines created Reality Wedding Video that utilizes interviews and behind-the-scenes footages.
A good wedding video always starts with a good concept. The real challenge for a wedding videographer is to execute the said concept given the limited editing time for the Same Day Edit wedding video.
Kiko and Eileen Same Day Edit is a perfect example of a perfect concept. Rommel was present during that wedding event and he told us that he was impressed. That was 3 years ago, but Rommel and Marivic booked us to be their wedding videographer as well.
Rommel and Marivic Same Day Edit wedding video has its own challenges. How the two met is an important part in the video. Marivic is a friend of Kiko, while Rommel is a cousin of Eileen. Therefore, it was Kiko and Eileen who introduced the two to each other.
It was a long distance relationship. Rommel is based in L.A. while Marivic is in Manila. Their day-to-day typical life apart is by going online everyday. The couple wanted a chatting session to be included too in the same day wedding video.
It took me a hard time documenting the chatting session from two different hotel rooms. Imagine directing two scenes in two different locations but you can only be in one location. Well, I can say it was all worth it. These kinds of requests set apart our wedding videography style from the rest of Philippine wedding videographers.

———- Reality Wedding Video by Buddy Gancenia, a wedding video producer and videographer in the Philippines, is a wedding video beyond the traditional music video style production.
An Indian wedding reception is very different from Filipino wedding reception.
An Indian wedding reception normally is a showcase of talents, usually dance production numbers and skits, from the family and friends while the couple will watch and will be entertained like the king and queen.
Kamlesh and Manju on the other hand had this idea to change the typical Indian wedding reception a bit by incorporating the love story wedding video for the dances and production numbers. The videos were used as introductions for all the performances.
It was a brilliant idea and first of its kind – telling your love story through video and at the same time serves as an introduction for all the performances during the wedding reception.
Most of all, this love story wedding video is futuristic. I’ve never encountered a couple like Kamlesh and Manju before, having this kind of idea, creating a love story wedding video, that is actually a simulation of married life scenarios 10 years after the wedding.
So guys, what you will watch is not actually happening yet. It is fictional only.
Again, this video is originally divided into several chapters for the said purpose. I re-edited this version into a whole video presentation to share, though some parts showed in the reception, I did not put here. Watch the love story wedding video.

Yes, it’s always the bride and the groom and the families and friends. But most wedding video coverages focus on the bride specially during the on-the-day wedding preps.
That’s why the Reality Wedding Video coverage team made it sure that Carroll, the groom will have exposure more than the usual coverage for the groom, and so we covered him while he was at the gym and spa.
This same day edit wedding video is more than the usual. Why? We used 4 songs for the entire presentation. Not only that, we had crane set-up too, inside the church.

Life apart…Carroll and Gladys Love Story Wedding Video.
The objective is to show the life of the couple while Carroll, the groom is in the United States and Gladys, the bride is in the Philippines. This was done by taking home videos and cell phone footages by the couple themselves.
The wedding preps was also on the highlights and it was well documented.
What I did on the other hand were the interviews and prenup footages. But the real challenge was developing the story and putting all these things together from 10 hours raw footages into a 7-10 minutes presentation.
It took me several days to come out with the final edit.

One of a kind Hello Kitty themed wedding of Nobuyuki and Elena Kiyozuka, a Japanese – Filipino Christian wedding held at Patio Isabel y Jardin on July 18, 2009.
When I asked Ms. Elena why “Hello Kitty”, she said, it’s her favorite cartoon character. Her bedroom in Japan is a Disney Land full of Hello Kitty. Name it and she all have them in different forms, shapes and sizes. She also added that she grew up in a poor family that can’t even afford to buy any stuff toys, and so this time, collecting Hello Kitty is her recreation and past time. She also added that given her past, she is proud of her humble beginnings.
Mr. Nobuyuki was in full support. He knows this makes her bride happy, and so he involved himself also in looking for unique Hello Kitty wedding souvenirs.
Now, the same day edit wedding video is full of feelings. Truly personal vows are coming from within, and the video captured as it is, revealing the heart and soul of the couple.
The Love Story wedding video is an overpowering love story. Her life as she struggled to survive together with her son Yoshihiro who was just 5 years old then. She met Nobuyuki, and they started as a friends, business partners and advisers. Without their knowing they fell in love. The couple’s love affair was unknown to the people around them for 16 years.
The final edited wedding video is not only a situation of heartfelt emotions but a mix of funny scenes as well. Given the personality of the bride, who will not laugh out loud while she is wearing her wedding gown…?
Wedding Highlight production soon…
We all enjoyed, even the witty yet very sensible couple themselves, the post wedding interview. And also they were very kindhearted.

A month before the wedding, we had our production meeting. Tian have so many ideas not just for the wedding video but as well as other wedding details. I love his idea for the door opening for the bride entrance (Watch the video to see how romantic and magical the plan was).
As expected, the couple was expecting reality treatment for the same day edit wedding video, something more than the usual same day edit. Well I’m proud that that’s one of the reasons why our clients book us, they wanted unique wedding video presentations. And so Tian made sure we have this teaser situationers using Batibot theme to make their wedding video fun, or I should say, make the wedding video actually funny.
It was a challenge because couples’ request is always our priority, but at the same time, I don’t want my wedding videos appear neither slapsticks nor baduy (bad taste). But I believe we have this “something”, whatever we do, a drama or comedy wedding video, our work always defect elegance.
By the way, thanks to Yvette Tan, friend an a former workmate at ABS-CBN whom recommended us to the couple. Yvette was the maid of honor. Now you know why she has lots of exposure. LOL

———- Reality Wedding Video by Buddy Gancenia, a wedding video producer and videographer in the Philippines, is a wedding video with a documentary feel that emphasizes the realness of the events.
Wedding video coverage started at the wedding reception capturing the venue set-up, from the decorations, flower table tops, sound system, etc. The make-up and pictorial of the bride with natural sounds, including Pat Dy’s, the photographer, instructions, makes you feel the moment. Stories behind the making of the gown will make you appreciate the gown more. And Bizu’s executive chef preparing the food is also part of the video. Whew…too much effort indeed. Most of all, the first kiss just right after the wedding ceremony rocks!

———- Reality Wedding Video is a wedding video that captures a range of emotions, touching the very heart of viewers produced by Buddy Gancenia, a wedding video producer and videographer in the Philippines.
Cedrick and Cathy were among the thousands of couples who were given a copy of our DVD samplers distributed at the bridal fairs. We created a wedding video invite, too, for the couple in one of the bridal fairs during the last quarter of last year.
Anyways, Shiny Happy People by REN, the music we used for the Same Day Edit wedding video is something I first heard after Cedrick told me that this was the song they decided to used for the same day edit. At first it sounded weird, but eventually I began to love it. I believe that a unique music will set us different from the usual wedding videography, the MTV wedding videographers. You know what, I had a “last music syndrome” – singing it every now and then after editing the video.
I like this same day edit wedding video because of the reality scenes in the edit, like the scene Cedrick cleaning his shoes using a old under ware. Also the scene where he asked the cameraman to enter the room showing his brother undressed?!!! I also liked Cathy talking to the camera like giving instructions to follow her or the hard time zipping her gown.
These are the elements we prioritized in wedding videography more than camera movements or using glide or special lenses. After all, we are Reality TV; not an MTV wedding video

———-
Buddy Gancenia , a wedding video producer and videographer in the Philippines created Reality Wedding Video that utilizes interviews and behind-the-scenes footages.
D.A. and Kat decided to choose us to cover their wedding after watching our winning piece in the 1st Sony Wedding Video Competition, realizing that we could tell their story best through our Documentary-Reality TV approach of wedding videography.
Our entry this year had postnup, prenup, pre-wedding interview and post wedding interview. The postnup, showed the life of a typical couple after the wedding, every morning having coffee together and every evening from work having dinner. The prenup, reflected the couple’s bubbly and fun personality. In the pre-wedding interview, they separately shared their love story. And the post wedding interview, they told about their wedding experience and quoted their messages to each other from their favorite movie, PS I Love You.
As the wedding videographer, my objective was to show a new element in this wedding video. So, we decided to use chroma visual effects and graphics. First, we used chroma showing a skyline to reveal the couple having coffee in the dining area. Second, we used chroma to enhance the personality of the couple for the prenup scenes. And finally, we used chroma for the first dance during the reception. We took effort creating the lighting effect for the interviews. We also used camera stabilizers in shooting the make-up scene of the couple, from the face of the bride gliding down to the hand of the make-up artist following the hand of another make-up artist then gliding up the face of the groom and repeating the process. We also used crane for the opening and ending scenes. We had trial edits during the shooting to make sure we could achieve the visual effects we wanted.
For the wedding video story line, our objective is to show that after the wedding, it’s just the start of the married life, and what matters most is living your best life.
As for the editing, it took us three days to edit the chroma effects alone. Another day researching for music, two days for story editing and another day putting all the things together. And finally, a day for color corrections.
We are grateful that our wedding videographer friends as well as friends from the broadcast industry contributed talents, effort and resources for this project. Danny Ballesteros, Reality Wedding Video Videographer and a long time friend from ABS-CBN. Sonny Castillo, my cousin and also one of the key videographer of Reality Wedding Video. Gabby Cua, another friend from ABS-CBN, who took charge of the visual effects. Noe Dela Cruz, Albert Avendano and Noel Cua. Jio Villegas for the crane and also Garry Garza. Also our couples Greggy and Joanna, and Cedrick and Cathy. And of course D.A. and Kat who supported us all the way.
Cathy, my wife, for the admin support and believing in everything that I envision. Yael, my eldest daughter who brainstormed with me during the story editing.
To sum it all, we took a lot of effort, but, in the end, it always depends on the judges and the audience who participated in the voting process. Reality Wedding Video ending up with the top 4 finalists is enough reward for all the efforts. This wedding video is definitely a showcase of our wedding videography artistry.
